Woman who killed while drunk driving charged again with DUI while on parole

A woman who killed a cyclist while drunk driving has been charged again with drinking and driving.

People coming back from cottage country on Sunday spotted a car driving erratically on Highway 400. A number of them called 911. Police caught up with her near King Road and after some difficulty got her over to the side of the road. She flunked a roadside breath test and was taken to the police station where she blew nearly double the legal.

This was the same motorist convicted of killing a cyclist while driving drunk. Darya Selinevich, who is now 27 year old, was sentenced to seven years jail in 2017 after pleading guilty to a number of charges, including impaired driving causing death, after she struck and killed a 44-year-old cyclist riding his bike in 2015. At that time she led police on a chase that got up to 200 kmh. before she was apprehended.

She received a seven-year sentence in 2017 and a ten-year driving ban. She was out on parole at the time of her arrest Sunday.

She faces a number of new charges including impaired driving, driving under suspension, and possession of drugs while operating a motor vehicle.
