Three Month Low in new COVID cases

Ontario has reported 173 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday. It is the lowest number since March 28.

There were only three deaths reported yesterday, again the lowest total in months

Thursday’s report brings the total number of lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the province to 32,917 with 28,004 cases considered to be resolved by the ministry of health. It is the 10th straight days where resolved cases outnumbered new cases.

Testing continues to exceed expectations with 25,278 tests for COVID-19 completed since Wednesday. The number of daily tests performed has remained above 20,000 in recent days, with more than one million tests completed overall.

As of Thursday, there are 351 people in hospital with the virus, a number that continues to decrease. Of those 351 patients, 84 are being treated in an intensive care unit, 60 of which are on ventilators.
