TEACHING THE SWEET SCIENCE TO DOWNTOWN KIDS

Hadaway Youth Organization has been offering an after school program for to help teach them the fundamentals of self defense for if they ever need it. More importantly the program allows kids to reinforce their confidence, develop discipline and to receive a positive outlook on life fueled with the energy that they get from boxing training. The operation is all spearheaded by Ex-Canadian Olympian Nickolos Farrell who teaches skills drawn from his years as a champion Canaian boxer. The program is free to children 4-18 with the help of the Jumpstart program a Canadian Tire, to help families that can’t afford to put their child in a mainstream sports program. Says Nick, “we  don’t want to let these children fall through the cracks. Instead we want to provide them with a safe space to learn about themselves and surroundings.”

The program has been operating on a shoestring budget for several years and is at risk of closing down if a source of funding is not found. Anyone in the community who thinks they can assist either with a donation or linking the program to a grant source is asked to obtain more information at the Hadaway Website: https://hadawayyouthboxingorg.weebly.com/
