SIU investigating hi-rise death

The province’s Special Investigations Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 34-year-old man this morning in North York.

Preliminary information suggests the following:

At approximately 5:10 a.m. on December 25, 2022, Toronto Police Service officers attended an apartment building at 155 Antibes Drive for a disturbance call.

Upon arrival, officers located a man on an apartment balcony. From a neighbouring balcony, the officers attempted to negotiate with him.

At approximately 6:50 a.m., the man fell from the balcony to the ground below. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Two investigators and one forensic investigator have been assigned to the case.

The SIU is urging anyone who may have information about this investigation to contact the lead investigator at 1-800-787-8529. The Unit is also urging anyone who may have any video evidence related to this incident to upload that video through the SIU website.
