Second suspect arrested in Mountain melee murder

Hamilton Police continue to make progress in rounding up those responsible for the stabbing death of Ali Mohummad early Sunday morning.

On Tuesday, July 21, 2020, shortly after 4:00 p.m., Hamilton Police made a second arrest in the murder of Ali Mohummad that occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning in the Limeridge Road West and Kendale Court area of Hamilton.

The 17-year-old male was arrested at his Mount Hope residence where a search warrant was also executed. A vehicle believed to be have been used by the two arrested males to flee the scene was seized for examination along with other items.

The male will appear in court later today and will face the charges of Second Degree Murder, Aggravated Assault (x2) and Assault with a Weapon.

Investigators continue to make progress in identifying other persons who were either present or participated in this incident. Police are encouraging those who merely witnessed the assault to contact police. Those males who participated in the actual assault should seek legal advice and turn themselves into police.
