The Bay Observer has learned that Council will likely receive and update of the Red Hill Valley Parkway litigation as well as works that have been completed on the roadway in July. The city is facing a number of individual and class action lawsuits arising out of series of accidents that took place in the years following the opening of the Red hill portion of the highway system. Since the discovery of a consultant report that called into question the performance of the road in rainy conditions a number of mitigation measures have been taken, including re-paving the road, and lowering the speed limit on the north-south roadway from 90 kmh to 80 kmh.
