20 shelter-related charities will benefit from over $51,000 raised by the The Realtors Association of Hamilton this holiday season. The funds will be distributed through the Ontario REALTORS Care® Foundation (ORCF) on behalf of RAHB.
The charities are using these funds for assistance with renovations, closing funding gaps for current or new programs and other organizational needs.
The 20 local charities that recently received funds are Carpenter Hospice, Eagle Worldwide Ministries, Ellen Osler Home, Good Shepherd, Habitat for Humanity – Hamilton, Halton Women’s Place, Hamilton Health Science Foundation, Indwell Wentworth Program, Interval House, Nina’s Place – Joseph Brant Hospital, March of Dimes Canada Non-Profit Housing Corporation, Mark Preece Family House – Jason’s House, Mission Services of Hamilton, Neighbour to Neighbour, Restoration Second Stage Homes, Salvation Army – Hamilton Booth Centre, Shifra Home Inc., St. Mathew’s House, Wesley Ministries and YWCA – Hamilton.
“This grant from RAHB will help provide families at the Good Shepherd Family Centre access to healthy breakfasts and snacks along with the education and tools they need to live a healthy lifestyle,” says Grace Baldwin, Director of the Good Shepherd Family Centre. “Last year, 72 families called the Family Centre home while they worked towards finding permanent housing. “
