Rash of gunplay incidents continues to escalate in Hamilton

Third Shooting In Less Than a Week

Hamilton Police are investigating the third shooting at a residence this week, this time in a residential area near Centre Mall.

On Friday, December 2, 2022, at approximately 3:00 a.m., Hamilton Police responded to a shooting in the area of Campbell Avenue and Grosvenor Avenue North.

Bullet casings were located in the area.

There were individuals within the residence at the time of the shooting and no one sustained any physical injuries.

This is being investigated as a targeted incident. Earlier in the week police investigated shooting incidents at Balmoral and Cannon Streets and

Division Two Criminal Investigation Branch is investigating this crime. Detectives are asking residents in the area to review their security surveillance cameras between the hours of 2:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m. for any suspicious activity and to contact police.

Detectives are also asking if anyone was driving in the area and have dash camera footage that would be suitable for review please contact the investigators.
