Hamilton was awash with provincial cabinet ministers Thursday as the premier and four ministers announced a provincial grant towards a new tortilla line at Bimbo Bakeries. That was followed by the Ministers attending the sod turning of a new facility for food additive producer Bartek, and the Economic Development Minister paid a visit to Hamilton’s Innovation Factory to drop off another $2.4 million to support innovation in the automotive industry. Underlying all this activity, the Premier doubled down on his plan to increase housing by opening up part of the greenbelt and overruling the urban boundary freeze that Hamilton Council had imposed in 2021. All of this was the topic of discussion on the Bill Kelly Show’s weekly Ontario Political roundup with Bay Observer Publisher John Best and Bill.
