Police Investigating Hate Graffiti in Oakville Neighbourhood

Halton police are investigating the second case of hate graffiti in a week. Last Tuesday  Halton Regional Police Service were called to Liptay Avenue and Colonel William Parkway in Oakville to check graffiti spray painted on the sidewalk at this intersection.

Yesterday, police attended Skipton Lane in Oakville for similar graffiti written on the sidewalk in chalk. During this incident, 4 individuals were observed walking on Skipton Lane and are believed to be involved in the incident. They are described as:

Suspect 1: male, late teens/early 20’s, wearing a red hoodie style sweater.

Suspect 2: male, late teens/early 20’s, wearing dark shorts and a dark t-shirt.

Suspect 3: male, late teens/early 20’s, wearing a light coloured sweater or jacket and dark pants.

Suspect 4: male, late teens/early 20’s, wearing dark coloured clothing.

Due to the nature of the graffiti this crime is being investigated as a hate motivated incident.  The Halton Regional Police will not be releasing the details about the actual graffiti as doing so would further propagate the intended hateful message

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to contact Detective Constable  Samantha Coysh of the 2 District Criminal Investigations Bureau at 905-825-4747 ext. 2245

Tips can also be submitted anonymously to Crime Stoppers “See Something? Hear Something? Know Something? Contact Crime Stoppers” at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or through the web at www.haltoncrimestoppers.ca.
