Perfect day for Burlington Santa Claus Parade

Story and photos by Denis Gibbons

Town Crier David Vollick led the way with shouts of Merry Christmas Sunday afternoon for Burlington’s annual Santa Claus Parade under sunshine and blue skies
An assortment of vintage fire trucks followed, along with the Burlington Teen Tour Band, Junior Redcoats Band, Top Hat Marching Orchestra and the Burlington Cougars junior hockey club marching in their white jerseys.

Members of the Burlington Centaurs rugby club tossed a ball around, playing catch with parade watchers.
And, of course, Jolly Old St. Nick greeted children from his sleigh at the end of the parade.

Representatives of the Burlington Oldtimers Hockey Cub walked along the route collecting donations in support of the parade on behalf of the parade organizing committee.
The parade started at the Burlington Centre, proceeded south on Guelph Line to New Street, west on New to Brant Street, turned the corner at City Hall and headed north to the finish at Burlington Central high school.
