Ontario-Wide 50/50 Lottery Supports Hamilton Hospital Foundation

Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation has launched the 50/50 Inspiration Lottery, with 50 per cent of the proceeds supporting highest-priority needs at Hamilton Health Sciences and the other 50 per cent awarded to one lucky winner. The lottery is open to the public and tickets can be purchased online at inspirationlottery.ca.

The winner will be announced on August 31. Two early-bird draws will be announced on July 30, with both winners receiving $500 in gift cards.

“Our Foundation team and clinical colleagues were inspired by how the community rallied together to support our hospitals during the COVID-19 pandemic with donations of food and personal protective equipment,” says Pearl Veenema, Chief Executive Officer, Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation. “The Inspiration Lottery is a perfect opportunity to continue supporting The Foundation, with one lucky person winning the big jackpot. It truly is a win-win!”

The money raised will enable Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation to fund highest-priority needs across Hamilton Health Sciences, including Hamilton General Hospital, Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre, McMaster Children’s Hospital, St. Peter’s Hospital and all of its associated programs. This includes the purchase of vital medical equipment, which is not funded by the government.

Hamilton Health Sciences is the only hospital system in Ontario providing specialty health care for the full spectrum of life’s journey, from pre-birth to end-of-life. It serves a region of more than 2.3 million residents and provides highly specialized care to patients from outside the region as a provincial referral centre. Hamilton Health Sciences is a leader in many specialized acute and chronic care programs for pediatric and adult patients across its sites. It is also a renowned academic-teaching hospital and an international leader in hospital-based research.

Three tickets can be purchased for $5, 10 tickets for $10 or 60 tickets for $20. Official rules and regulations are available on The Foundation’s website at inspirationlottery.ca.
