Not one, but Three LTC investigations

Canada’s long-term care operators had better brace for more scrutiny that they have ever experienced before.  Now the Office of the Patient Ombudsman has joined the Provincial Ombudsman and the Provincial Government in announcing probes into the beleaguered long term care system. The Patient Ombudsman is an Ombudsman for health care experiences in Ontario; the position was created in 2015 under the Excellent Care for All Act. The office’s job is to investigate complaints related to Ontario’s healthcare system. In the office’s first year, it received 2,000 complaints.
