New COVID cases, deaths drop

Ontario reported one of the lowest totals in new COVID cases in weeks with 11 new cases reported overnight. Also there was only one death recorded—another new low since the outbreak began. Commented Health Minister Christine Elliott, “today, Ontario is reporting 111 cases of #COVID19, a 0.3% increase. Locally, 28 of Ontario’s 34 public health units are reporting five or fewer cases, with fully 21 of them reporting no new cases at all. With 122 more resolved, there are 11 fewer active cases in the province.”

Hospital activity rose somewhat with 137 in hospital, an increase of 33 hospitalizations from the previous day –30 of them in Intensive care and 20 on ventilators
