Mountain shooting claims Hamilton’s 6th homicide

A shooting on Hamilton’s centre mountain has left a 44-year-old man dead. Police were called to a parking lot at 334 East 14th street where they found the man on the ground bleeding in the parking lot of the apartment complex. Officers immediately began CPR and attempted life-saving measures. Hamilton Paramedics arrived on scene quickly and assisted police. The victim was transported to the Hamilton General Hospital by ambulance where de died of his injuries. It is Hamilton’s 6th homicide of the year.

Officers will be in the area for most of today canvassing. If you live in the immediate area, police are asking that you check your video surveillance between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 11:20 p.m. for anything unusual or suspicious. Investigators will also be canvassing for any potential video.
