Massive Cargo Aircraft arrives in Hamilton

Hamilton airport welcomed a massive Boeing B777 cargo jet Monday which will be taken over by CargoJet—one of Hamilton Airport’s major tenants. CargoJet owns 40 cargo planes serving 70 routes worldwide. Earlier this year CargoJet entered into a new long-term strategic agreement with DHL, who recently opened a large cargo facility at the airport.

Under the deal DHL is to be Cargojet’s inaugural launch customer for the B-777 wide body long-range cargo aircrafts, like the one that landed Monday.

The freighter version of the Boeing 777 can fly nearly 5,000 miles non-stop with 226,700 pounds (113 tons) of cargo.
