Police charge man with second-degree murder in Lottridge Avenue homicide.

Hamilton Police have a man in custody charged with second degree murder in the City’s second homicide after a man was found deceased in the City’s East End. Monday, Hamilton Police received information regarding a suspicious death. After further investigation, the body of a male was located in a tent near the rail tracks in the area of Lottridge Street and Landsdowne Avenue.

The victim has now been identified as 32-year-old Stanley Gordon Waite from Hamilton. An autopsy is being performed today at the Centre of Forensic Sciences in Toronto. The manner of death is not being released. Police say Waite sometimes lived with family and friends and other times in the tent where the murder took place.

Devon Pastoric, 32, from the Hamilton area, has been charged with second-degree murder. Police are not looking for any other suspects.

The Hamilton Police Forensic Unit will remain on scene at the Lottridge Street site throughout the day and police continue to canvass the area for video.
