Hamilton business executive Michael Macaluso’s face was all over Times Square in New York last week as he participated in the NASDAQ closing bell ceremony on behalf of Driven Brands where Michael heads its Paint, collision and glass division Operations. The occasion was the two-year anniversary of Driven Brands’ successful IPO. Michael rose through the ranks of the auto collision company Carstar when it was owned by Sam Mercanti, and was elevated to his current post when Driven Brands purchased Carstar.

Michael’s introduction to the world of business began when, as a student he worked weekends and summers at Carmen’s, owned by Peter Mercanti. After graduation he was hired full time at Carmen’s. Within a couple of years, Sam Mercanti, Peter’s brother and owner of the collision repair giant, Carstar, approached Michael to join him in marketing, and the rest is history.
As a volunteer Michael Macaluso is Chair of the St Joseph’s Hospital Foundation, a board member of the Charity of Hope and a member of the Tiger Town Council. He is the son of Hamilton businessman and fundraiser Gabe Macaluso.
