Legendary bandleader Wally Mack, owned the Jockey Club

Popular trumpeter, orchestra leader and tavern owner Wally Mack has died. He was 95. An obituary reads “Wally leaves behind many friends that he came to know during his time as the owner of The Jockey Club Tavern/Oakwood Place. He was at his happiest providing entertainment and great music with his band, The Wally Mack Band. He was always there for his friends and family, helping them with their careers, renovating their houses or just lifting their spirits with one of his many jokes. We will miss you Dzia Dzia. May your beautiful music play on forever in Heaven.”

Hamilton East Stoney Creek MP Bob Bratina posted. “My dear friend Wally Mack has passed away. He and wife Carol did so much for the hospitality and entertainment scene in Hamilton. You can’t find better people, more hard-working and decent people…so sad, I had the honour of playing in Wally’s band.”
