Knife Assault Upgraded to Attempted Murder

An East End parking lot altercation has left a Hamilton resident with serious neck and face injuries. The initial Aggravated Assault charge has been upgraded to Attempted Murder.

Police say an altercation occurred between two males in the Bottoms Up Bar & Grill parking lot on Barton Street East at Lotteridge in Hamilton. A 32-year-old male received serious stabbing injuries to his face and neck. The assailant fled the scene on foot but was located several blocks away by uniformed officers. At this time he was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault, Weapons Offences and Breach of Probation.

This week Police received further information and as a result a 26-year-old drifter has been hit with a string of charges including Attempted Murder, weapons charges, uttering threats of bodily harm and breach of probation.
