Hamilton Police have confirmed that an unidentified woman who was found in critical condition early this morning at an Ancaster Intersection, has been pronounced deceased in hospital.

The woman, believed to be in her twenties, was discovered by a resident at around 6:30 a.m. on the ground in the middle of the intersection of Garner Road East and Kitty Murray Lane. According to paramedics, she was sent to a Hamilton Trauma Centre where she later died.

Garner Road East between Redeemer University’s private road and Southcote Road, as well as Kitty Murray Lane from the Garner intersection to Emick Drive, have been blocked off since roughly 7 a.m. The roadblock caused minor congestion outside of Immaculate Conception Catholic Elementary School, where parents and buses dropped off children.

Hamilton Police have declared the death suspicious and have called in detectives to investigate. They are also trying to locate next-of-kin.

They ask that anyone who was in the area between 4-6 a.m. call 905-546-2458 to report anything they may have seen or heard.
