Hamilton Man seriously hurt by hit-and-run car thief

A Hamilton man is in  hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries after a hit and run collision on Hamilton Mountain. Saturday evening shortly after 9:00 pm, Hamilton Police were called to the area of Upper Wentworth Street and Elite Drive for reports of a fail to remain motor vehicle collision.

Police day the collision involved a male pedestrian and a stolen vehicle that fled the scene.  The stolen vehicle was located a short time later abandoned.  Emergency Services transported the male to hospital where he remains with critical, life threatening injuries.

The Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating this incident and will provide further updates as the investigation unfolds.  Detectives are asking residents and businesses in the area to review their security cameras between the hours of 9:00pm and 10:00pm, for any suspicious activity and contact Police.  Detectives are also asking for anyone driving in the area at that time with dash cam footage to contact investigators.
