Hamilton Cyclist Succumbs to Injuries in Fatal Collision

An early morning collision between a vehicle and a cyclist has claimed the life of a, 52-year-old Hamilton man

Shortly before 5:30a.m., Hamilton Police and Emergency Partners were called to the scene at Upper Wentworth Street on the Lincoln Alexander Parkway Overpass.

Police say both the vehicle, a 2017 Dodge Caravan and the cyclist were travelling northbound on Upper Wentworth Street, when the collision occurred.

The passenger of the involved vehicle called 911.

Police and Emergency Partners arrived on scene and located the cyclist on the road apparently without vital signs. Medical aid was given, until paramedics transported the male to hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The investigation remains ongoing and police are asking any witnesses or vehicles with dash camera video that would have been in the area at the time of the incident to contact the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 905-546-4753 or 905-546-4755.
