Halton Police nab five DWIs over the weekend

Note to would be impaired drivers–residents of Halton do not hesitate to turn in people suspected of drinking-driving. One such incident took place Saturday when a citizen spotted a 58-year-old driving erratically in the area of Guelph Street and Mountainview Road in Halton Hills. Police showed up and the man blew over 80 and has been charged.

There were three collisions on Saturday that also led to impaired charges.

Then on Sunday Halton Police officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of 25 Sideroad and 4th Line in Milton. As a result of an investigation, a 28-year-old Mississauga man was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.

Members of the public are reminded that driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol is a crime in progress and to call 9-1-1 immediately to report a suspected impaired driver.
