Halton Police cuff man trolling female high school students in Aldershot

On the first day back to school, a probationer was arrested for trying to lure Aldershot High School girls into his car. Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) responded to the area of Aldershot High School after receiving several calls regarding a male suspect driving around the area sexually propositioning high-school aged females.  The incidents occurred in the afternoon and a description of the suspect and the vehicle he was driving was provided to police.

The vehicle being utilized by the suspect was a 2013 black, 4-door Volkswagen Jetta.

At approximately 3:20 pm, officers attended the high school and located the suspect’s vehicle in the parking lot, unoccupied.   A short time later the suspect returned to his vehicle and was arrested.

Sukiran Sirtharan (23) of Burlington has been charged with:

Invitation to Sexual Touching (2 counts)

Fail to Comply with Probation Order (2 counts)

Sirtharan was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Investigators believe there may be additional victims and are asking anyone with information or who came into contact with Sirtharan to contact the Child Abuse and Sexual Assault Unit at 905-825-4777 ext. 8970.  A photo of the accused is attached.
