Doug Ford Slams Mississauga Mayor over Bill 23

Calls Mayor Crombie “disingenuous”

At the end of an announcement about provincial and federal  funding to municipal transit systems, Premier Doug Ford took off on a rant against Mississauga Mayor Bonnie Crombie for her opposition to Bill 23-the More Homes Built Faster Act. Crombie had posted a video last week criticizing the Bill saying it would cost Mississauga $880 Million over the next 10 years.

Ford fired back, saying Mississauga is sitting on a huge pile of cash reserves.

The transit announcement was for $505 million in federal-provincial funding to cover Ontario municipal transit systems offset revenue losses, pay for fare and service integration, and provide On-Demand transit. Hamilton will receive over $5 Million and Burlington $1.5 Million.
