Burlington man dies in head-on collision

A vehicle collision in Burlington has claimed the life of an 83-year-old man

Wednesday, Halton Regional Police responded to a motor vehicle collision near the intersection of King Road and Cedar Avenue in the City of Burlington.

At approximately 7:29am, a blue coloured Toyota Corolla was traveling southbound on King Road when it crossed over the center line and struck a northbound tan coloured Chevrolet Tahoe.  A 83 year-old male resident of Burlington, who was operating the Toyota Corolla, was transported to hospital.  However, the driver succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased in hospital.  The driver of the Tahoe, a 75 year-old male resident of Burlington, suffered minor injuries.

Due to the nature of the investigation, the Halton Regional Police Collision Reconstruction Unit responded to the scene and took carriage of the investigation.  The scene was held for approximately 6 hours for the at-scene collision investigation and subsequent debris clean up.
