Hamilton-born Broadway star Nick Cordero has lost his months-long ordeal with Coronavirus. Over the course of 13 weeks, the Tony Award-nominated star woke up from a medically-induced coma and underwent a leg amputation due to COVID-19 complications. A few days ago his wife Amanda Kloots tweeted that Nick was struggling and would probably require a double lung transplant. When Nick Cordero died last evening Kloots posted this message to Instagram.

Michael Cordero was born in Hamilton 1978. He attended Westdale Secondary and the University of Toronto. He made his off-Broadway debut in 2009. In 2014 he was nominated for a Tony for his role in Bullets Over Broadway in 2014. In addition to his stage career Cordero appeared in several movies—the best known, Going In Style with Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine and Alan Arkin. He also appeared in television series such as Blue Bloods and Law and Order SVU. In addition to his wife Amanda Kloots, Nick Cordero leaves his one-year-old son Elvis.
