Authors in the Park back for second session

Bill King, the owner of Attawandaron: Hamilton’s Publisher Ltd. Is announcing the second annual version of Authors in the Park August 7th—this year in historic Gore Park where a dozen area authors will provide a reading of their works. Bill started the event last summer, on the spur of the moment. He had been conducting Sunday morning downtown walking tours for the last five years and as he said, “it just struck me that Gore Park would be a good place for writers to bring their books to display and sell. It went pretty well considering the pandemic was still going full blast last summer, and I am trying to make it larger this year.”

The event will also feature free Hamilton IQ tests and organizers will give out certificates and videotape the answers for a documentary of some sort. Cold drinks will be available for purchase to help defray the park fee.

Bill says, “It is very important to me that the festival be a free event for everyone, and an opportunity for all writers to participate without being vetted or told what is “appropriate”.

The event is sponsored by Attawandaron: Hamilton’s Publisher Ltd. a very small company, with four books under its belt. Attawandaron is a small press focusing on quality books of local interest. For more information, www.attawa.ca.”
