Police say they have nabbed a suspect in the murders of four University of Idaho students more than six weeks ago.
Bryan Christopher Kohberger, 28, was arrested after a SWAT team swooped in Scranton, Pennsylvania, at around 3am this morning. Kohberger was a graduate of a criminal justice program. Police say Kohberger is a PhD college student at Washington State University, within the Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology, and did not attend the University of Idaho.
Kaylee Goncalves, 21, Madison Mogen, 21, and Xana Kernodle, 20, were stabbed to death in Moscow, Idaho, on November 13 .Xana’s freshman boyfriend, Ethan Chapin, 20, was also killed in the massacre.
Sources tolod the Daily Mail that authorities knew who they were looking for and hunted the suspect down to Pennsylvania in the Pocono Mountains – more than 2,400 miles from Idaho.
As part of his research Kohberger posted an appeal for help on social media with his research – which was looking at how ‘emotions and psychological traits influence decision-making when committing a crime.’
Kohberger is facing an extradition hearing.
