New COVID cases at 111, resolved cases continue to climb

The overnight tally of new COVID cases in Ontario was 111, up slightly from the previous 24 hour period, But recoveries continue on a positive trajectory.

“With 141 more resolved, there are 30 fewer active cases in Ontario,” Health Minister Christine Elliott said on Thursday. “The number of hospitalizations, ICU admissions and vented patients have all declined.”

“Locally, 30 of Ontario’s 34 public health units are reporting five or fewer cases, with 19 of them reporting no new cases.”

Five deaths were recorded overnight. The province wide COVID hospitalization count sits at 107, with 26 people in ICU and 20 on ventilators.
