The Downtown BIA has created some free social distancing decals to help create line ups while maintaining 6 feet apart as well as open sign decals for windows (with or without space to write in any changes you may have had to your operations). Businesses are invited to contact the Downtown BIA to obtain decals. (Decals are free and available to Downtown Hamilton BIA members only).
The Canada Emergency Business Account provides loans of $40,000 guaranteed by the government for qualifying small businesses and not-for-profits to help cover their operating costs. These loans will be interest-free for the first year and will be offered through qualified major Canadian Banks. Businesses that repay the balance of the loan on or before December 31, 2022 will result in loan forgiveness of 25 per cent (up to $10,000). These loans are now available, small businesses and not-for-profits should contact their financial institution to apply.
