In the spirit of the holiday season, RBC Royal Bank helped donors double the impact of their donations to McMaster Children’s Hospital Foundation with the Gift Match campaign. From December 1 to December 31, 2015, the financial institution matched – dollar for dollar – donations made to the campaign up to a total value of $15,000.
“We are delighted to have completed another successful Gift Match campaign this year in support of McMaster Children’s Hospital Foundation,” says Laurie Davidson, Regional Vice President, RBC in Greater Hamilton. “Thank you to our employees, clients and community partners for helping to raise more than $42,400. At RBC, we are committed to helping our communities prosper and are grateful for the amazing health care services available at McMaster Children’s Hospital.”
The Gift Match campaign had a significant presence at RBC branches across the Greater Hamilton Region, where information cards with donation details were given to clients and visitors. Proceeds from the Gift Match campaign will support the highest priority needs of McMaster Children’s Hospital.
This year’s campaign child was four-year-old Isabella, who was born prematurely at 35 weeks. Isabella lives with a number of health challenges, including spastic quadriplegia cerebral palsy, which involves care at both sites of McMaster Children’s Hospital. Isabella’s story inspired everyone who attended the launch event, and her visits to several branches helped motivate staff.
“A heartfelt thank you to the participating RBC branches and their employees for their dedication in completing another successful RBC Gift Match campaign,” says Pearl Veenema, President & CEO, Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation. “Your continuing passion for children’s health will once again play a significant role in helping McMaster Children’s Hospital provide outstanding care for families throughout the region.”
