After last week’s anarchist vandalism on Locke Street, Hamilton Police said the persons responsible could be charged with mischief. The word “mischief” may sound innocuous, sort of like “hijinks” or “pranks;” but a quick scan of the Criminal Code may give pause to these hooded hooligans. According to the Code, “everyone who commits mischief in relation to property … the value of which exceeds five thousand dollars…is guilty of an indictable offence and liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding ten years.” Hopefully the Police will be able to round up some of these thugs and see them ultimately subjected to the anarchy of the Canadian penal system.

Providing a Fresh Perspective for Burlington and Hamilton.
