Michelle Newlands, Principal of King’s Road Public School in Burlington, has been named one of Canada’s Outstanding Principals by The Learning Partnership for 2016.
The Learning Partnership’s Canada’s Outstanding Principals program recognizes principals in publicly funded schools. 40 principals are being celebrated for “demonstrating innovation, having an entrepreneurial spirit and for employing creativity in finding solutions and opportunities”.
“This is a true honour to receive this prestigious award,” Newlands said. It is a privilege to help lead learning every day at King’s Road Public School.”
The Learning Partnership invites nominations of outstanding principals from school boards, colleagues, parents, teachers, students and community members. Recipients attend a five-day leadership training program at the Rotman School of Management in late February in Toronto.
