The Ancaster Horticultural Society holds it’s monthly meeting on Tuesday January 19th, 2016 at the Ancaster Old Town Hall., 310 Wilson St. E. Ancaster, A coffee & tea refreshment social begins at 7:30 pm followed by the meeting at 8:00 pm. The Society welcomes Registered Herbalist Elizabeth Boyd, an alternative health practitioner who will speak about, Herbal Medicine, the holistic approach and medicines made from plants to address various health concerns and/or conditions such as:

* Stress, anxiety, fatigue, low energy

* Skin problems

* Digestion and associated GI problems

* Persistent colds and flu

* Allergies

* And other illnesses

Originally completing a Chemical Engineering and Management degree at McMaster University, Elizabeth’s interest in culinary and medicinal plants became a hobby that eventually led to more education. After enrolling in a six month herbal field study program, she knew that Herbal Medicine was her passion and Elizabeth began to pursue a degree in Traditional Herbal Medicine at the Institute of Traditional Medicine in Toronto. She graduated in the Fall of 2011. Elizabeth lives with her family in Burlington, ON and her garden is landscaped with a variety of herbs & plants that she uses in her practice.
