Alyssa DeSantis, a The Hillfield Strathallan student has signed with the acclaimed Florida Atlantic NCAA Division #1 Soccer Program for the fall of 2016.

DeSantis’ soccer journey started when she was only 4 years playing in the Saltfleet GoAhead Soccer Club in Stoney Creek. She quickly proved a skill level that earned her a spot playing with the boys. At the age of 10 she transferred to the Major Junior League playing with girls several years older than herself, and became the league leading scorer. She was named Hillfield Strathallan College’s MVP of the School’s Junior soccer team every year from 2007 to 2011 and then MVP of the Senior Soccer team in 2012 & 2013.

Now in her final season before heading down south DeSantis has joined the St Catharines Jets of the OWSL League, the highest level of Women’s amateur soccer in Ontario “I’m thankful that I was given the opportunity to continue playing the sport I love while getting an education at the same time A big thank you to my parents for always supporting me, especially my dad for helping me reach my full potential. I’m excited to see what the future holds for me at FAU. Go Owls!” says DeSantis.
