The 2010 Al Pacino show at Carmen’s in Hamilton is still being talked about. More than 1200 showed up to hear the Tony and Oscar winner talk about his career and take questions from a well-heeled audience who ate up every word. Now Carmen’s entertainment has arranged for the star to stage a similar event in Toronto’s Massey Hall. Dennis Concordia of Carmen’s Entertainment says Pacino was impressed with the way Carmen’s handled the arrangements and since then he and Carmen’s President PJ Mercanti have kept in touch with Pacinos management from time to time. “Carol Avery is Al’s show manager and she told us that Al would like to take his “Pacino—one night only” show to Toronto sometime.”
In the meantime Carmen’s were also involved in arranging a recent Pacino gala in Windsor. Carmen’s Entertainment has partnered with Princess Gates Entertainment, a division of Paletta International of Burlington to stage the show. The evening will include an on-stage interview and an audience Q&A session. “He likes to talk about theatre, which is his first love,” said Concordia. “He is passionate about the stage.” PJ Mercanti, CEO of the show’s co-promoter Carmen’s Group said in a statement. “We believe that demand for this event will be spectacular, as Toronto has been very welcoming of Mr. Pacino and his film work in the past.” A similar show in London England recently sold out in 24 hours.
Tickets start at $79, and can be obtained at http://www.masseyhall. com/. V.I.P. tickets, costing $1,500, granting ticket holders the opportunity to meet and take a picture with Pacino, are only available by contacting Carmen’s Group at 905- 387-0007
