Mike Wilson – CEO of Agrium

Mike Wilson, president and CEO of Agrium, says his company has no plans to sell its retail division, after it evaluated the idea of spinning off its retail division and decided against the plan because share-holders of the agricultural services company would face too much risk. Its shares rose 40 cents to $95.93. The Calgary firm issued the statement after the Wall Street Journal reported that hedge fund Jana Partners had purchased a large stake in Agrium in a move to push the fertilizer giant to cut costs and sell its retail arm.
