It will be the Big Apple all night on Saturday, February 27, 2016, as Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation stages its annual fundraising Gala at the Hamilton Convention Centre. New York State of Mind is the theme of this year’s event.

Visitors will experience “Grand Central Station” and all its classic glory, accompanied by a musical duo before transporting up the subway escalators into an energy-filled “Central Park.” The “Grand Astor” ballroom will complete the sensory experience. Throughout the formal program entertainers will perform, including: R&B singer Ivana Santilli; soul singer Sean Jones; Juno award winner Divine Brown; and country singer and television host Beverley Mahood, all backed up by an 9-piece band.

A full-plated dinner, raffle and auction will round out the evening as business and medical professionals from across the region unite with a common goal of raising funds to support essential medical research.

“The Foundation’s Gala has become one of the most highly anticipated black-tie affairs of the season and many key business leaders join us each year,” says Pearl Veenema, President and CEO, Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation. “It is an opportunity to celebrate and support the research conducted at our world-class hospital sites and cancer centre.”

Through a network of five research institutes/centres, nearly 500 principal researchers at Hamilton Health Sciences address complex health care problems – from neonatal to aging sciences, investigating matters of the heart, blood, cancer, surgery, rehabilitation, diabetes, obesity, infectious disease, child health and many more.
